Think Before You Pitch: What We Expect From Professional Emails

Purple Diamond Press Inc. receives a high volume of emails from authors, illustrators, marketers, publicists, service providers, consultants, organizations, and individuals seeking partnerships or paid opportunities.

Unfortunately, a growing number of these messages are generic, unverifiable, misleading, or clearly automated. Some include vague claims, suspicious links, copied-and-pasted introductions, or offers from individuals who provide no evidence that they—or their businesses—actually exist.

To protect our company, authors, intellectual property, finances, and time, Purple Diamond Press Inc. does not respond to unsolicited emails that lack basic professional credibility.

What We Consider an Unverifiable Email

An email may be disregarded when it includes one or more of the following:

* No full name or identifiable business name
* No official website
* No professional social media profile
* No portfolio, work samples, or verifiable experience
* No clear explanation of why the sender is contacting us
* Generic statements that could have been sent to any company
* Suspicious attachments, shortened links, or unfamiliar file-sharing links
* Claims of guaranteed sales, media coverage, awards, reviews, funding, or business growth
* Requests for payment before providing verifiable information
* Repeated follow-ups after no response
* A message that does not demonstrate any familiarity with Purple Diamond Press Inc. or our work

A professional email address alone does not establish credibility. Likewise, using a Gmail or other personal address does not automatically disqualify someone. What matters is whether the sender provides enough verifiable information for our team to confirm who they are, what they do, and why the communication is relevant.

YOU WILL LIKELY END UP IN THE SPAM FOLDER AND BE BLOCKED.

What Legitimate Outreach Should Include

Individuals or organizations contacting Purple Diamond Press Inc. should provide:

1. Your full name and professional role
2. The name of your company or organization, when applicable
3. A direct link to your official website, portfolio, or professional social media profile
4. A specific explanation of why you are contacting us
5. Relevant experience, credentials, or examples of previous work
6. A clear description of the opportunity, service, or proposed partnership
7. Transparent pricing or next steps, when offering a paid service

We should not have to conduct an extensive investigation to determine whether a sender is legitimate.

Generic Sales Emails Will Not Receive Priority

Emails beginning with vague statements such as:

* “We can help grow your business.”
* “Your website needs improvement.”
* “We can guarantee book sales.”
* “We can feature your company in major publications.”
* “We noticed your social media could perform better.”
* “We have an exciting opportunity for you.”

will not receive a response unless the sender provides specific, credible, and verifiable details.

Purple Diamond Press Inc. does not engage service providers based on exaggerated promises, manufactured urgency, or unsolicited criticism intended to create fear.

We make business decisions based on evidence, professional alignment, transparent terms, and demonstrated value.

Manuscript Submissions Must Follow Our Official Process

Authors should not submit manuscripts through general company email addresses unless specifically instructed to do so.

All manuscript submissions must be submitted through the official submission process listed on our website. This allows our team to evaluate each project consistently and ensures that the appropriate information accompanies the manuscript.

Sending a manuscript directly by email does not improve the likelihood of acceptance and may result in the submission not being reviewed.

Illustrators and Publishing Professionals

Illustrators, editors, designers, marketers, publicists, and other publishing professionals should include a direct portfolio link and verifiable professional presence.

We do not open unsolicited attachments from unknown senders. A portfolio hosted on an established website or professional platform is safer and more efficient for our team to review.

Professionals interested in being discovered by authors and publishing companies may also explore Curated Publishing Co., our platform created to connect the publishing community with credible creative talent.

Why This Policy Is Necessary

This policy is not intended to discourage legitimate communication.

It exists because responding to every vague, automated, or unverifiable email takes time away from:

* Supporting our contracted authors
* Reviewing legitimate submissions
* Producing and distributing books
* Developing marketing opportunities
* Communicating with educators, retailers, partners, and media
* Building the long-term growth of Purple Diamond Press Inc.

Professional communication requires mutual respect. That includes respecting the recipient’s time and providing enough information for the recipient to make an informed decision.

Our Standard Going Forward

Purple Diamond Press Inc. welcomes credible inquiries, thoughtful proposals, and legitimate partnership opportunities.

However, we reserve the right not to respond to unsolicited communication that does not include a verifiable website, professional social presence, portfolio, organizational identity, or other credible evidence supporting the sender’s claims.

Before contacting our company, ask:

Have I provided enough information for Purple Diamond Press Inc. to verify who I am, understand why I am reaching out, and determine whether this opportunity is relevant?

When the answer is yes, we are far more likely to review the message seriously.

When the answer is no, the email may be deleted without response.
